SHORT HISTORY ModTech International Conference - New face of TMCR

The first edition of the International Conference "Modern Technologies in Machine Manufacturing Technology-TMCM" was organized in 1995. From 1999, since the organizing agreement in common by the Departments of Machine Manufacturing Technologies of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi, Romania and Technical University of Moldova from Chisinau, the Conference changed its name in "Modern Technologies, Quality, Reorganization-TMCR", which took place each year successively at Iasi and Chisinau. Beginning with present edition, the 13th, the name of the Conference will be "Modern Technologies, Quality and Innovation-ModTech"-New face of TMCR. In the 12 preceding editions there have been published, yearly, over 250 scientific papers in 4-5 volumes with authors over 25 countries from Europe, SUA and Asia.

The 13th edition of the conference organized by the Departments of Machine Manufacturing Technologies from the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" of Iasi- Romania and from the Technical University of Moldova of Chisinau - Republic of Moldova took place in the period 21-23 of May 2009, in the buildings belonging to the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" of Iasi - Romania. 105 academic staff, researchers and industrial specialists participated to the conference sections. The authors and co-authors of the signed papers currently work in 13 countries (Armenia, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, United States of America, Turkey and Uzbekistan).

Beginning with the present edition, the 14th, the Organizing Committees of both departments from Iasi-Romania and Chisinau-Republic of Moldova accepted the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts like third organizer of ModTech International Conference.

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MODERN MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES

The Organizing Committee decided to start with two numbers per year including 15-18 papers per edition. In time, the journal will have four editions per year.
During the three years, this journal will pass the CNCSIS (The National University Research Council of Romania) indexing process (B, B+, A) and international indexing in at least one international data base and, finally, it will be proposed for ISI Thomson Reuters Master Journal indexing.

Professional Association in Modern Manufacturing Technologies (ModTech Iasi-ROMANIA)

The Professional Association in Modern Manufacturing Technologies was created by founder's members from Departments of Machine Manufacturing Technology and Machine Tools, Faculty of Machine Manufacturing and Industrial Management, "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi-Romania.
The scope of the Professional Association "ModTech ROMANIA" consists in realization the following activities: design-research-development-small production in engineering, technical consultancy and specific dissemination actions of results such as congresses, conferences, symposiums and workshops.

The main advantages for the members are:
- 15% reducing fee for the ModTech International Conference;
- publication priority in International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies;
- access to the scientific information belonging to ModTech Iasi-Romania Professional Association;
